Irish Life Health National Road Relays – Sunday 22nd April

It was great to see the Club so well represented at another National event and competing well against other national clubs.  The course was in Raheny and took in laps of a course.  The number of laps depended on your leg of the Relay.  For the Masters it was 1 lap for legs 1 and 3 and 2 laps for leg 2.  In the Senior Men the format was 2-1-3-2.

Masters Women W35

Lucan Harriers ladies finished in 6th position in the W35 Masters Women’s Race.  First off was Breda Smyth who ran her leg in 6.21 handing over to Niamh Fitzgerald who ran a 12.01 leg with Kathleen Trunk finishing in 6.40 for an overall time of 25.02.

Masters Mens M35

 In the M35 Lucan Harriers was represented by two teams.  First Lucan team home was Eoin Fitzgerald who ran his leg in 5.06, Patrick Holden who ran 11.16 and Peter John Hyland running a 5.27 leg to finish their leg in 21.49 and 16th place.

The second team consisted of Michael Lee and a 6.08 leg, Colin O’Gara a 12.45 leg and David Trunk running 6.12 to give the team an overall time of 25.05 and 23rd place finish.

Senior Men

Lucan Harriers was also represented in the Senior Men category with four of our younger athletes taking on the relay.  First off was Alex O’Brien who ran 11.40 folowed by Eoghan Shanley in 5.15, Patrick O’Donoghue in 17.28 and handing to Dylan Wright who ran 12.26 to bring them home in 46.49.
