Good performances in Cross Country by Lucan Ladies & Juveniles

Sunday 28th November saw Lucan U12 Girls competing in the National Cross Country and the Lucan ladies taking on the first of the Meet & Train races in Dunboyne.

Four juvenile athletes took part in the U12 Girls National Cross Country race held on the new Cross Country course in the National Sports Campus in Abbotstown.  Eve Marie Noctor led the Lucan girls home in 31st with Maggie Jez, Millie Hughes and Hannah Moriarty putting in strong runs.  Lucan finished 12th in the Team Competition.  Eve Marie's run also was one of the results which counted for Dublin being 2nd in both the County and Provincial races.

Dunboyne AC hosted the first of the 2016/2017 Meet & Train races.  The 2 mile cross country race was run in dry conditions and was a challenging run.  First home for Lucan was Breda Smyth followed by Tricia Gough and Bernie Stapleton.  There were six first-timers to Cross Country for Lucan and all put in great performances - Celine Murphy, Ceara Kerrigan, Maggie Russell, Lorraine Mulally, Aideen McCormack and Geraldine Coogan.
