Eileen O'Brien wins bronze in 10km National Championships

Eileen O'Brien won the bronze medal in her age category at the 10km National Championships which was held at the Great Ireland Run on Sunday 9th April in the Phoenix Park

Lucan Harrier Eileen O'Brien put in a strong run to finish 3rd in her age category in the 10km National Championships held in the Phoenix Park at the Great Ireland Run.  Eileen finished in a time of 50.57.

There were strong runs from Lucan athletes with Will Byrne leading them home coming across the line in 77th place overall in a time of 35.20.  First Lucan lady home was Tricia Gough in a time of 47.59 and 19th in her age category.  She was closely followed by Kathleen Trunk in a time of 48.25 which was good enough for 23rd in her age category.  Next in was Eileen O'Brien in 50.57 and she was followed by Keith Gallagher in 51.13, Anne Smith in 1.00.02, Kim Jones in 1.04.24 and Anita Hughes in 1.06.19.

In the 5km run on the day, Lucan's Josephine Dignam finished in 39.21.
