Lucan Harriers take on Cork City Marathon

Nineteen Lucan Harriers athletes headed south to tackle the Cork City Marathon and Marathon Relay on Sunday 4th June.

Nineteen Lucan Harriers athletes travelled to Cork to take on the Cork City Marathon and Marathon Relay.

In the full Marathon, Jason Barrett finished in 4.15.39 followed by Sinead Fleet completing her first marathon in 4.39.28 and Olive Mulligan in 5.26.44.

In the Relay, which takes place over the Marathon Route, Gerry Byrne was a member of the 'Loose Marbles' team who completed the run in 3.10, the 25th team home out of 700 teams.  15 ladies from the Club's fit4life section took part in 3 teams of 5.  First home were 'Fit4Anything' with team members Patricia Hennessy, Edel Fogarty, Maggie Russell, Ceara Kerrigan and Geraldine Coogan who finished in 4.47.28.  Next home were 'The Go Go Girls' with team members Lorraine Mulally, Christine Salmon, Bridget Kenny, Eileen Quirke and Catherine Dunne who finished in 4.53.29.  They were followed by Team 'Fit N Fabulous' with team members Patricia Byrne, Anita Hughes, Fanchea Gibson, Elaine O'Rourke and Aideen McCormack who crossed the finish line in 5.01.18.
