There were runs in parkruns, K Club 10km, Underground Run 10km, Dunboyne 4 Mile and the National Juvenile Championships
There was a silver medal in age category for Lucan's Eileen O'Brien and a good turnout from Lucan Harriers athletes at the Rock 'n' Roll Races this weekend in Dublin
26 Lucan athletes head to the Phoenix Park for the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon Race Series Race 1 - the Irish Runner 5 Mile.
Lucan were represented at parkrun, Garda/BHAA Cross Country, Great Heath 10k, Trim 10 mile and the National Indoor League
Lucan Harriers Will Byrne & Gerry Byrne put in great performances in the first of the National Races Series in Punchestown on Sunday 17th January.
Congratulations to Niamh Fitzgerald on her win at the Le Cheile 5K on Saturday, she was home in 18.18. Deirdre Counihan won her category in the same race.
Three ladies, four medals It was another great performance by the Lucan Harriers ladies team at the Leinster Masters Indoor track & field competition in Athlone IT on Sunday. We had some contenders at the Parkrun on Saturday 28th with Gerry Byrne back in flying form getting a Parkrun PB in 19.56 and finishing 8th man,Joan Donegan was the sole lady, running in 34.20. Jim Dwyer was next in 37.04
The Rock n Roll Half Marathon took place on Bank Holiday Monday August 5th, this race incorporated the National Half Marathon Championships, and had its trademark band at every mile.
On Saturday the 5th August, we had 3 runners in the Parkrun, first home for the ladies was Liz Arkins in 23.25, followed by Josephine Coffey in 27.49 and Joan Donegan was next home in 37.02 - this was Joan's first race in the Lucan Signlet, great running & start of many more.
Wednesday night the BHAA Track race took place in Trinity college, Lucan Harriers took home our usual quota of podium finishes.
The final race of the Meet & Train Summer Series took place in the Phoinex Park on Wednesday, this was a 4 mile race and was hosted by Donore Harriers.
23 from Lucan Harriers crossed the county border last Tuesday night and went to Johnstownbridge to complete in one of the fastest & flattest 5Ks in the locality, and this year was no different.
The first race of the Meet & Train Summer League was hosted by Lucan Harriers AC and was a 5K race, and 11 Ladies from Lucan took part.
Lucan Harriers had 6 runners taking part in the Great Ireland Run on Sunday in the Phoenix Park, this was both a hilly & windy course which tested all taking part, including Kenenisa Bekele.
New comer to Lucan Harriers, Clare Kavanagh went to Clonakilty to run her first race in the Lucan vest, taking part in the the Clonakielty 10k on April 1st.
