Great performances in Athlone and Bohermeen

Medals for Juvenile athletes in Athlone and first in age categorys in Bohermeen 10k and Half Marathon.

Lucan Athletes leapt to victory at the GloHealth Juvenile Indoor Championships held in Athlone on Saturday 12th March.  Hannah Moriarty won the National Title with her third jump of 4.23m in the Girls Under 12 competition.  A short time later Sophie Reihill jumped into Silver Medal position with her last jump of 4.42m.  There were a number of great performances by Lucan athletes with Liam Brennan also reaching the final of the Boys Under 12 600m.  Congratulations to all the Lucan athletes who performed so well and the experience of a National Championships will be of great benefit to them.  Well done to the Coaches and Parents for all their hard work.

At the Meath Bohermeen Spring Half Marathon and 10k on Sunday 13th March, 6 Lucan Harriers athletes took to the road.  In the 10k we had two PBs with Breda Smyth coming in first in her age category and fourth lady overall in a great time of 43.29.  She was followed home by Anita Hughes who enjoyed her PB in a time of 1.04.06.

In the Half Marathon Lucan's Barry Aherne came home in a time of 1.21.11 followed by Gareth Fereday in 1.22.22, Sarah Hughes in 1.56.46 closely followed by Ursula Murphy in 1.56.52 who was first home in her age category.
