Eileen O'Brien win Silver Medal in National Half Marathon

There was a silver medal in age category for Lucan's Eileen O'Brien and a good turnout from Lucan Harriers athletes at the Rock 'n' Roll Races this weekend in Dublin

The Rock 'n' Roll Race Series came to Dublin for the weekend of 6th & 7th August with a 5k run on Saturday 6th and the 10k and Half Marathon being held on 7th August.

The Half Marathon also was the 2016 National Half-Marathon Championship Race.  Lucan's Eileen O'Brien won the silver medal in the National Half-Marathon Championships in her age category.  Eileen also took part in the 5k race on Saturday and finished that in 26.02.

First home for Lucan in the Half-Marathon was Will Byrne in a time of 1.22.58 followed by Gareth Fereday in 1.24.17, Rory Thompson in 1.33.48, Colin O'Gara in 1.45.03 and Colm Munnelly in 1.46.09.  Next home for Lucan was Eileen O'Brien with her silver medal run in a time of 1.54.59.  Next in was Sinead Fleet who was taking part in her first Half-Marathon and finished in a great time of 2.25.51 with Olive Mulligan home in 2.38.15 and Josephine Dignam in 3.04.18.

In the 10k Race, Anita Hughes finished in 1.05.21.
