A busy weekend for Lucan Harriers

There were runs in parkruns, K Club 10km, Underground Run 10km, Dunboyne 4 Mile and the National Juvenile Championships

Lucan were represented in three parkruns on Saturday 25th - Griffeen, Cabinteely and Tralee - the highlight being the completion of a first 5k by 12 of the fit4life group who started in January 2017 at Griffeen parkrun.  

13 Lucan athletes headed to the K Club to take part in the BHAA / K Club 10km road race organised by Lucan Harriers Club Member Gerry Byrne.  First home for Lucan was Will Byrne in a time of 34.45.  First Lucan lady home was Lorraine Heffernan in a time of 46.03.  Eileen O'Brien was first in her age category in a time of 50.03.

Tricia Gough put in a strong run at the Underground 10km run through the Dublin Port Tunnel and finished 24th lady home in a time of 48.36.

15 Lucan Harriers headed to Dunboyne for the annual 4 mile road race which takes in the village and surrounding roads.  There was great local support and a wonderful atmosphere around the course.  First home for Lucan was Colm Carey in a time of 25.30, first Lucan Lady was Kathleen Trunk returning in style from injury in a time of 30.49.  Eileen O'Brien continued her winning streak with another first in her age category in a time of 31.57.

At the National Juvenile Indoor Championships held in Athlone IT, three Lucan Harriers athletes represented the Club with pride.  Hannah Moriary just missed a medal finishing fourth in the U/13 Girls High Jump with a jump of 1.40m.  Hannah also ran in the U/13 60m finishing her Heat in a time of 8.84.  In the same competition Christvie Lungaga finished her Heat in a time of 8.90.  In the U/14 Long Jump for Girls Sophie Reihill put in a good jump of 4.21 to take 10th place.
